Family Stewardship

We view parents not only as primary educators but also as important partners. Families enrolling at the Active Parishioner rate are expected to contribute time, talent, and treasure toward the good of the parish and school.

Time and Talent

Parent involvement is a very important aspect of Notre Dame Parish. We truly value your time and talent above any treasure. Doing so provides a positive example for children, promotes a sense of community, and helps Notre Dame continue to offer quality programs for students and families.

A sign-up containing volunteer opportunities at the school and parish will be distributed to families in the spring. Our goal is 100% participation.

Treasure

We estimate the average cost to educate a Notre Dame student exceeds $9,200. The Notre Dame Parish subsidy and school fundraising efforts throughout the year help close the gap between this cost and tuition.

The parish invests approximately $200,000 towards our school's educational needs. The suggested minimum contribution an Active Parishioner Family is invited to make is $25/week ($100/month, or $ 1,200/year). We recommend that Active Parishioner families sign up online so the pledge is deducted monthly from your FACTS account.

A Tuition Agreement will be distributed before the start of the school year, asking new school families to commit to being Active Parishioners of Notre Dame Parish. Those who wish to be considered a Non-Active Family or Non-Parishioner Family will be asked to indicate that as well.

We collaborate with families to make a Notre Dame School education accessible. Contact our Admissions team to learn more about tuition assistance, which includes scholarships, need-based aid, and considerations for parishioners and families with multiple children. A family’s financial circumstances determine awards.

The Catholic Education Foundation of the Diocese of Joliet (CEF) distributes financial need-based scholarships each year. The program is designed for K–12 students with demonstrated financial need who are currently enrolled in, or applying for, any CEF-supported Catholic school within the Diocese of Joliet for the next school year. Contact the School Office for more information, or begin an application.

Any first–seventh-grade student who transfers from any public, private, charter, or home school is eligible to receive a transfer discount of $1000 in their first year and $500 in their second year. Students transferring from another Catholic school in the Diocese of Joliet or the surrounding diocese are not eligible for the program.
