This Tuesday is the Feast of the Assumption of Mary – Holy day of obligation. "In giving birth you (Mary) kept your virginity; in your Dormition you did not leave the world, O Mother of God, but were joined to the source of Life. You conceived the living God and, by your prayers, will deliver our souls from death. (966 - Catechism of the Catholic Church). Thus, the Assumption of Mary is not only a participation in her Son's resurrection, but a preview of our future resurrections through the same Son.
